Collaboration governance policy build

Teams sprawl, risky SharePoint external sharing, unclear OneDrive policies, and guest access exceptions are creating audit risk.

Business context

The company needs practical governance that business units will follow.

Technical objective

Design Teams lifecycle, guest access, SharePoint site architecture, OneDrive governance, sensitivity, and collaboration controls.

Student instructions

  1. 1Review simulated Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, guest, and sharing settings.
  2. 2Build policy controls for engineering, finance, HR, plant-floor, contractors, and acquired-company users.
  3. 3Define ownership, lifecycle, exception, and evidence requirements.
  4. 4Validate the policy against governance rubric checks.

Troubleshooting

  • If the policy blocks too much, add business-approved exceptions with expiry and evidence.

Cleanup

  • Export collaboration governance policy.
