How we work

A few things to know before you apply.

  • We're small on purpose. Five engineers today. We'd rather grow to 15 great hires than 50 average ones — every role is a real seat at the table.
  • Senior engineers ship. The same person scopes the engagement, builds it, and stays on the handoff. No throw-it-over-the-wall.
  • AI is a tool, not a religion. We use it heavily — for ops, for development, for customer-facing products. We're skeptical of the parts that are hype.
  • Remote, with two real places. Most of the team is remote across the US. DeSoto, TX and Flint, MI are our datacenters; quarterly travel to one or the other is expected.
  • Compensation. Senior-engineer market rate + meaningful equity. Health, dental, vision. Real PTO that we actually take.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Full-time
Remote · US · DeSoto TX or Flint MI travel quarterly

Own the platform layer end-to-end: virtualization, storage, networking, automation. Ship to two production datacenters; on-call rotation shared across the team.

  • 5+ years building or operating production private cloud / virtualization platforms
  • Comfortable owning incidents end-to-end; clear-headed under pressure
  • Linux + networking deep enough to debug from packet capture upward
  • Has shipped infrastructure-as-code at scale (anything from Ansible to OpenTofu)

Senior AI / Platform Engineer

Build the AI layer behind our managed services: orchestrator for autonomous remediation, RAG over runbooks, customer-facing copilots. Anthropic SDK, prompt caching, tool use.

  • Production experience with LLM apps — prompt caching, evals, latency tuning
  • Comfortable across the stack: TS/Node + Python, REST + WebSocket, postgres + pgvector
  • Strong taste for AI UX — knows when a chatbot is helpful and when it's noise
  • Bonus: experience building agentic systems with tool use

Build the customer-facing surfaces — marketplace, lab platform, billing, portal. Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, postgres. Ship to customers weekly.

  • 3+ years shipping production Next.js (App Router) or equivalent
  • Strong product instincts — comfortable owning a feature from spec to ship
  • Writes tests where they earn their keep; ruthless about scope
  • Bonus: experience with Stripe, B2B billing, multi-tenant data isolation
